From Concept to Conference and Curriculum

Grand Rapids Theological Seminary (GRTS) of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan hosts an annual Talking Points conference for pastors and ministry leaders. Talking Points director Darrell Yoder approached The GoodWorks Group for help developing the 2020 conference. The focus of the conference would be promoting resilience and flourishing of pastors and ministry leaders.

We worked with Mr. Yoder and his team to develop clear, measurable objectives for the conference. We suggested speakers and facilitated a brainstorming session to come up with a title for the conference. We also helped develop video resources and blog posts to promote and support the conference. And, thanks to a generous grant GRTS received from The Lilly Endowment, Inc. – Religion Division, we used conference resources to create a series of studies to help current and future pastors and ministry leaders develop resilience in ministry.

You’ll find some of our work on the conference website

Of Note

  • We developed the concept and script for the conference promo video and worked with videographer Eric Scrhotenboer to produce it.
  • We interviewed conference speakers and other experts on resilience to make conference resources and promotional materials. Check out this clip from our interview with Dr. Chuck DeGroat.
  • We authored numerous blog posts on topics related to resilience.

We developed The Resilience Curriculum.
