Logic Model Bootcamp
Are you applying for a grant this summer? If so, the Logic Model Bootcamp is for you. Over the course of three, two-hour sessions (plus homework), you will develop a logic model that can serve as the blueprint for your proposal narrative. Offered via Zoom, these sessions will provide time for brainstorming, collaboration, and reflection while equipping you to write a compelling grant proposal.
When: Two options
3-week Bootcamp: May 14, 21, and 28 | 1pm-3pm ET
OR
1-week Bootcamp: June 16, 17, and 19 | 1pm-3pm ET
Who can attend: Up to 3 people from your organization
Cost: $1,500 per organization
Why do I need a logic model?
A logic model can help you:
- systematically reflect on the project and activities you want to implement;
- write a thoughtful and organized proposal narrative;
- identify your capacity challenges;
- determine your evaluation processes;
- write a clear and compelling grant proposal; and
- remain on-track throughout your project.
What can I expect during the bootcamp?
During the Sessions
In each bootcamp session, you will work on a portion of your logic model. Explanations, examples, and handouts will help you brainstorm and organize your thoughts. You will also have time for independent work with your teammates and time for collaboration and discussion with other participants.
Homework
Between sessions, you can expect approximately 2-3 hours of homework to complete with your teammates.
Feedback
Between sessions, the facilitator will be available via email for questions and feedback.
Why work with GoodWorks?
GoodWorks owner, Dr. Meryl Herr, has consulted on and written several successful Lilly Endowment proposals. At the beginning of each project, she works with clients to develop a logic model. Meryl has also been hired to conduct evaluations on Lilly-funded projects. Her knowledge of program planning for adult learners, experience in higher education, and research conducted for the Association of Theological Schools makes her an excellent strategic partner and coach for institutions and organizations preparing grant proposals.
Testimonials
“Trinity worked with Meryl on a major grant proposal. Meryl provided expertise and insight throughout the grant writing process. She helped us develop our priorities and tell our story in a compelling way. She understands theological higher education and helped us write a better grant proposal. Meryl’s help was instrumental to our successful grant proposal.”
– John Simons, Associate Dean, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
“We contacted the GoodWorks Group for assistance with a substantial grant proposal for a leading national philanthropic organization. Her recommendations regarding distribution of labor allowed me to invest much-needed time into the conceptualization of a vision and ministry model and to lead a team responsible for developing the constituent pieces of a five-year grant. Meanwhile, Dr. Herr worked independently, expertly, and seamlessly in doing superb primary research and conducting multiple rounds of surveys and interviews under strict protocols. This led to my institution’s confident submission of a bold proposal to the foundation. We expect to continue this wonderful partnership in the future and commend Dr. Herr and The GoodWorks Group to anyone looking for leadership or assistance in high impact projects seeking to advance the common good in our world.”
– Freddy Cardoza, Dean, Grace Theological Seminary
“Meryl is a very competent and skilled evaluator and brings a fresh eye to assessing the impact of an organization or project.”
– Stephen Lewis, President, Forum for Theological Exploration
